It’s still early in the Premier League season, but Monday’s clash between Liverpool and Arsenal could already have potential title implications.

Manchester City and Chelsea have both already dropped points in their first two games, which gives both the Reds and the Gunners a shot to take an early lead in the title race. The defending champs, Liverpool will likely be favored at home at Anfield, even if there still won’t be fans filling up the Kop. But don’t count out Arsenal. The Gunners, winners of the 2020 FA Cup, defeated Liverpool in penalties to win the Community Shield to kick off this season.

Liverpool retained everyone from their title-winning side and brought in a new midfielder in Thiago Alcântara. The former Bayern maestro made his debut last Sunday in the Reds’ 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and looked very confident on the ball. He could add another dimension to the Liverpool attack as a player who can dominate possession and spray the ball all over the field.

Arsenal have made a couple of moves this offseason, bringing in Willian from London rival Chelsea, along with Brazillian centerback Gabriel dos Santos Magalhães from Lille. They’ve also been able to retain the service of star striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, who has taken the captain’s arm band for this season.
