6′ Southampton are starting to put a bit more pressure on City now and Walcott makes a driving run down the right, getting away from two defenders. Cancelo gets back quickly though to stop a cross going into the box.

4′ City are seeing more of the ball here, but all of their possession is in their own half. They’re knocking it around between their defenders and when it goes back to Ederson, he has to clear his lines quickly before Ings closes him down.

2′ Sterling does brilliantly as he cuts inside from the left and dribbles between two Southampton defenders. He tries to go around Bednarek as well, but his touch is heavy and he knocks it straight out of play.

Southampton are looking to win back-to-back Premier League games against City for the first time since May 2003 (a run of three), after winning this exact fixture 1-0 in July last season.

Pep Guardiola makes four changes to his team after their draw with West Brom on Tuesday, bringing in Walker, Stones, Silva and Torres. Ake, Mendy and Foden start on the bench, while Gabriel Jesus is left out of the squad.

Ralph Hasenhuttl makes just one change to the side that drew with Arsenal on Wednesday. Djenepo comes into the starting line-up in place of Armstrong, who drops to the bench.
