College football experienced its first major upset of the 2020 season Saturday when No. 3 Oklahoma lost to unranked, winless Kansas State at home 38-35 after leading by three touchdowns in the third quarter.

Saturday’s Big 12 game looked at first like it would be a routine rout for the Sooners, especially after quarterback Spencer Rattler completed 17 of 19 passes for 181 yards and three scores in the first half. But those two incompletions were interceptions that kept Oklahoma from growing its lead. The Sooners were up 21-7 at halftime.

Oklahoma scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to lead 35-14, but it couldn’t keep Kansas State out of the end zone when it mattered most. The Wildcats scored touchdowns on four consecutive drives and kept the Sooners off the scoreboard for the final quarter. Oklahoma’s final five drives resulted in a fumble, three punts and a game-ending interception (Rattler’s third INT of the game).

The result is not only the first win against a top-10 team this year, but also the second victory K-State coach Chris Klieman has earned over Lincoln Riley in two tries. It’s a potentially devastating blow not only for the Sooners, but also the Big 12 (remember, Kansas State started the season with a loss to Arkansas State).

Naturally, Twitter was quick to offer takes on the loss, Oklahoma, Riley, Rattler and more:
